Head Coach
Zachary Pall
Zach Pall is originally from Setauket, New York. He grew up playing lacrosse on Long Island and started playing lacrosse when he was 8 years old. Lacrosse was introduced to him by one of the most well-known families on Long Island when it comes to the game, Joe Spallina. Zach’s dedication and work ethic lead him to be chosen as an All-American at Ward Melville high school and earned a roster spot on a Division I college team.
Coach Zach started his college playing career at Quinnipiac University in Hamden CT, playing there during his freshman and sophomore years. Playing midfield and taking face-offs for the Bobcats, Zach helped Quinnipiac earn playoff berths in 2008 and 2009 as well as leading the country in faceoff percentage during the 2009 season. The following season Zach transferred to Hofstra University and played his next two colligate seasons for the Pride. While at Hofstra, Zach played mostly defensive midfield, helping the team to an NCAA playoff berth in 2011. After graduating and finishing his colligate playing career at Hofstra he continued to pursue his love for the game and was invited to play on the international stage. With pride, he wore the blue and white colors of the home team he has played in events all over the world, including the following:)
2015 Zach helped the national team to a top 4 finish at the World Indoor Championship.
2017 Zach and his team took gold at the European Indoor Championship and were second on the team in points.
2018 Zach and his teammates got to compete in Netanya Israel and finished 7th overall, leading the team in points as well as goals.
2019 He competed with his teammates at the World Indoor Championships in Vancouver, BC. Zach and his team finished 6th overall and once again was the 2nd highest scorer for the team.
2022 After a long Covid break, Zach was able to put the blue and white on again and represent the international team at the World Lacrosse sixes format in Birmingham, Al. This event was the first step to having lacrosse become an Olympic sport and is recognized by the Internal Olympic Committee.
2023 Zach once again made the international team and competed in the 2023 World Championships in San Diego, California. The team’s only loss in the tournament was to Team USA who finished in 1st place. His team finished overall in 7th place by beating Team Jamaica in their final game.
2024 Zach has been asked to play one more time for the international team. Zach will once again dawn the blue and white uniform on the international stage of lacrosse by competing in the World Games in Utica, New York in September 2024. This is expected to be his final season playing at an international level.
All the while loving playing Lacrosse, Zach found his true passion was extending the love for the game to the next generation. During the summers while in college Zach worked as a camp counselor at Million Lacrosse, The Nike Xcelerate, and Hofstra Blue and Gold lacrosse camps. In 2012 Coach Zach made a major life decision and moved to Mobile, AL to be closer to family. After arriving in Mobile and finding their small lacrosse community he started spreading the game along the gulf coast holding camps, clinics, private lessons, and travel teams. He has coached or worked with high schools and many players in Pensacola, Mobile, Daphne, and Ocean Springs, and eventually found his way to New Orleans in 2021. Zach took over the reins at Jesuit New Orleans and led the team to its first state championship in years with an undefeated season. Zach has led his high school team to the state championship game the past 3 years, coming out on top as 2-time Louisiana State Champions (2021 and 2023). His 2024 team is currently undefeated and headed to the big game at the end of April 2024.
Zach formed Louisiana Lacrosse Academy (LLA) to give the community a structured lacrosse program with top level coaches for the region. He noticed the athletes are here they just need to be taught the right way from the beginning. Zach believes in teaching the game the right way. He brings on top-tier coaches who have played at D1 or D2 colleges and universities from around the country. Many are local High School Coaches and Zach is committed to training and mentoring younger coaches who have received State Honors or played on State Championship teams. He instructs, oversees, and guides fellow LLA coaches with his high standards while continuing to coach.
The game is growing throughout the country and he decided the New Orleans metro area is the prime location for it to explode and for Louisiana to become a hot bed for lacrosse in the south. LLA teams travels to tournaments outside the state. In 2023, Zach took a group of high school upper classmen to recruitment specific opportunities and camps (UNC-Chapel Hill) to get exposure and recruitment opportunities for players interested and who have the skills to play at the next level.
Through his hard work and determination, Zach worked tirelessly to create a partnership with the Jefferson Parish Recreation Department (JPRD) to run their lacrosse recreation league in the Spring and Fall each year. Beginning at the end of 2023, the JPRD/LLA rec league lacrosse is offered to everyone and will continue to spread the game of lacrosse.
Zach’s work is not done as he continues to look for more ways and opportunities to bring lacrosse to the state.
